Dearest Google Android,

You have made a serious error. You see you have a rather large following of users who like to mod and try things. You said that your system would be open and NOT be like Apple, you know locked down and unable to mod. So you released your code to the open source world so they can do all the work for you. However you forgot to pre-release the code to your core, the manufacturers. You see it is them that actually create working drivers for our phones. The dev community can only do so much. If you follow Microsoft, which I know you do, they have multiple “previews” before the full release. This serves to 1) flesh out the bugs and 2) create drivers for the new system. Even before 7 and 8 Microsoft would release builds to the manufacturers so they could create drivers.

If your plan is force people to buy new phones, well we can’t because you still forgot to release builds to the manufacturers to create drivers and as of 3/3/12 there is still only one phone for sale that comes with your newest version of ICS on it.

Time to learn from your mistakes and move on. That is all.

Sincerely,

Daniel the Nerd

P.S. I’m seriously considering waiting for the newest Windows phone since GB is okay at best and there are no good drivers to make ICS run on my current phone.
